After my last post about all that is going awry right now, I want to encourage all of us to, yes, pay attention and stand and be heard, but also to be sure we are taking time away from this insanity for plenty of rest and time with loved ones and self care.
I’m also going to quickly report that, in the past few days, with my health situation, I have had a not-so-fabulous change. I mentioned in a previous post that at my last ortho visit my foot doctor said that my third metatarsal in my left foot would be breaking at any time. Well, I’ve had some nasty, nasty pain that led me to believe that had happened. However, now my foot has started turning a nifty shade of purple and all kinds of craziness too – so I’m wondering if it may be even more than just that break? Good times.
Still, unruly feets or no, yesterday was a big lovely day in our home.
I unexpectedly had my own mini-Halloween Christmas:
There were weenie dog gifts from my Sara Bug. . .
And fabulous Halloween cards from Mom, Pop, and GJ. . .
And these beautiful flowers from my better half. . .
I am so so blessed.
And then I got to get all dressed up in my natural form:
And I got to do Halloween with some of my favorites:
It was a great day.
And now we have more wonderful things planned with my bestie today as well. I cannot wait.
Of course, I will be sharing more about that on Saturday. 😉
And, finally, last year, after our dear friend Ryan passed away so suddenly and I found myself at home, unable to work and really down about that, my husband started putting up our Christmas tree(s) at the first of November because I LOVE Christmas and love to celebrate and listen to Christmas music and watch Christmas movies and sit by the tree and drink hot chocolate and enjoy the season for as long as possible. Especially since I got so sick, it’s good for my soul – and I don’t care what anybody thinks.
Sooooo. . . .
The big Christmas tree is going up this weekend! The tunes will be on! The hot chocolate with marshmallows will be brewing! Elf will be viewed – at least three times! 🙂
Oh, and this little dude has already been spotted under a smaller tree that’s already up:
(Henry’s little tree will be up in our bedroom soon too. =D )
Regardless of when you choose to start celebrating, let’s all take some extra time this weekend to be good to ourselves and each other.
Merry Christmas Season!
Be well, everybody.
Grace and Blessings.
