I came across this article in People about a woman, Lindsey Gritton, who noticed a lump in her breast that was burning when she was 36 weeks pregnant that she was told was likely mastitis or a clogged duct – but she was concerned so she requested that an ultrasound be done just in case.
Because she did, they discovered that she actually had an aggressive form of breast cancer – and it had spread throughout her body.
While she initially was not expected to survive beyond six months, she has miraculously responded so well to all of her chemotherapy and immunotherapy that she is showing no evidence of disease a year and a half later.

I share this to encourage everyone again to do your breast self exams, but also to always advocate for yourself in medical settings.
If something is amiss and you are concerned, don’t be afraid to request further testing and don’t ignore nagging concerns you have.
They may save your life.

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
