The past week has been filled with my wonderful husband’s birthday, book club with my favorite ladies, and an overdue day trip to visit our sweet family at the lake. It was such a lovely week – though having a busy one during a flare has left me bone tired I must say.
All is well though – this week will be spent in, catching up writing, reading, and rest. ❤

On that note, today is actually a double post day: first, a brief one – our Banned Book Friday, the fourth week – on Monday 😉 .

Last week, immediately after 1984, I read Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World.

It is often considered alongside 1984, both dystopian novels, each with total state control of its subjects (more or less), albeit in totally different ways.
I definitely see the value in Brave New World – but, as they are so similar in theme, I found myself slogging through it, ready to move on to other things.
Now that I have finished it, I have several – non-project – books to share this week – starting with my second post today.
Also, from our list, I am almost finished rereading Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God – and I love Zora Neale and her book so I can’t wait to discuss it this Friday.
Happy Reading, y’all. ❤

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
