happy birthday Emily Brontë.

Since I first read it when I was a young girl, I’ve counted Wuthering Heights my favorite classic book.

♥️

Published in 1847, it is Emily Brontë’s only novel – and her sole published work other than a volume of poetry shared with her sisters.

It shocked the society it entered – and, published just a year before Emily’s death at 30, she had no idea of the novel’s incredible success.

As I usually do during the last week of July, I revisited Wuthering Heights this week. It brings me such joy to spend time Catherine and Heathcliff every year, one of those cozy books you keep forever.

If you haven’t revisited your forever favorite classic recently, I encourage you to do so.

You’ll be glad you did.

And Happy Birthday, Emily. Thank you for so many wonderful memories.

♥️

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Grace and Blessings.
