While we take issue with all book bans and challenges here on the blog, as I’ve been working on our banned books posts, I’ve seen several written for children and young adults that I would consider classics, ones I cannot imagine not having read, that have been targeted by the book police.
Some, like Harry Potter, we’ve already discussed earlier this week – but others we have not.
Today, I’ll be sharing ten titles that particularly stood out to me.

- Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

- Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. by Judy Blume

- The Giver by Lois Lowry (also, if you haven’t seen Jeff Bridges’ film version, do.)

- The Lorax by Dr. Seuss

- The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

- A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle

- Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson

- James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl

- A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein

- Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White
The absurdity of this list reinforces the need to stand down book challenges and bans at every turn.
Wishing you all a fantastic end of your work week and happy (free) reading.

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
