Happy weekend, y’all.
It’s time for our Friday photo roundup and today I want to share some pictures from a little unscheduled adventure I went on while I was in Montgomery for an appointment Tuesday.
See, the movie Big Fish, one of our favorite films, was filmed in and around Wetumpka. In fact, the Big Fish House is in the center of Wetumpka.

Well, I have long known that the fictional Town of Spectre, constructed for the film on a tiny island on Jackson Lake in Millbrook, was still standing and wanted to go visit terribly. I even to tried to go once several years ago but the land bridge to get across to the island was washed out due to heavy rains that day so we were turned back at the gate.
As it was a beautiful 80 degree day on Tuesday and my appointment was only about 15 minutes from Jackson Lake, after I was finished, Grover and I took a little detour to finally see Spectre.

It was wonderful to finally get to stop by – and, especially as my body has been crashing out so hard lately, it is really good for my spirit to have outings when I am able.
Also, here is a link from Country Living with more information about Spectre if you aren’t familiar and want to know more:

Finally, of course, if you haven’t seen Big Fish for yourself, please do. It the most charming, magical little film and it will make your heart smile.

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
