After some busy weeks of conference and many doctor’s appointments with the pneumonia and Covid fatigue still holding on tight, this spoonie body is feeling oh-so-rough and has just really cried “uncle” the past few days – so I am down for the count. Sometimes that is just the chronic illness life – and I am one of the truly blessed to have a wonderful family who loves me so well and looks after me when I am sickly.
As there isn’t anything new to say about my body running amok, instead I want to talk about brighter things. . .
Today is World Giraffe Day.

The Giraffe Conservation Foundation says, “World Giraffe Day is an exciting initiative by GCF to celebrate the longest-necked animal on the longest day or night of the year on 21 June – every year.”
Its purpose is to raise awareness that giraffes are now considered at risk for extinction due to habitat loss as well as poaching.
One way to support the Giraffe Conservation Foundation is to consider participating in its Adopt A Giraffe program:
Giraffes are my favorite animals, and, this past spring, Bug, Liz, and I went down below Montgomery, to the Safari Park, where among many amazing experiences, I finally got to feed and pet my giraffes – however, somehow, I got sidetracked and never shared the experience here.
OH. MY. WORD.
(I have waited a LONG time for this giraffe experience. ❤ )

So, y’all:
- If you can, please help however you are able with giraffe conservation efforts. What is happening to these wonderful animals is just a shame.
- If you live locally, I highly recommend a visit to the Safari Park. In addition to the giraffes – which are amazing alone – it has the most wonderful animal drive through and so many other fantastic experiences.
Happy World Giraffe Day, y’all.

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
