merry everything and a happy always.

Here in the Hippie Hut, my dear ones are getting back to their regular schedules – and I am recovering from a busy and wonderful Christmas week (complete with a cold and sore throat now, of course).

i love the holly tree at mom and pop’s house – and my better half gave me my own for our house this Christmas Eve. ❤

We have had the best holiday season, with lots of friends and fun and family time.

On Saturday, my sister Stephanie, my parents, and I went to see the Alabama Symphony Orchestra perform Handel’s Messiah as our family Christmas celebration.

Steph and me. ❤
Handel’s Messiah is always stunning. This performance was fantastic.

It was a wonderful concert, both by the orchestra and the choir, as well as featuring phenomenal soloists. ❤

After that, here in the Hippie Hut, our little family celebrates Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home – beginning after Bug wrapped up work Christmas Eve afternoon.

santa! we know him! 🙂

On Christmas Eve, we watched Christmas movies and had lots of yummy snacks and opened gifts and snoodled up together and it was wonderful. ❤

my whole heart. ❤
santa was so good to me.
courtney found the exact cabbage patch that my grandmother gave me when I was a little girl. her name is christie. ❤
the crow movie is very special to courtney and me, and we accidentally had a “crow christmas,” each giving one another meaningful gifts from the film. this is shelly’s engagement ring and I just love it so much. ❤
bug’s leather jacket from santa. ❤

On Christmas Day, we open our stockings and have a yummy dinner and watch Christmas movies all day – and it is just the best. ❤

henry has been very good this year. ❤
all the fur babies had lots of goodies from santa in their stockings. ❤
the tiniest (working!) etch-a-sketch ever in my stocking. 🙂

And Christmas dinner was SO good:

courtney smoked steaks that gj gave us for christmas – and they were ahhh-mazing. ❤
courtney also made honey pecan pies – using miss kay from duck dynasty’s recipe – and they are from jesus. ❤
the fur babies usually eat a simple homemade food – but this was extra fancy special christmas puppy food. ❤

It was a beautiful Christmas and I am deeply grateful.

I only wish my people could have had more days at home.

I am already looking forward to a long New Year’s weekend coming up (and bowl games too 🙂 ).

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Grace and Blessings.

We simply must wrap up our actual Christmas post with a Christmas song (this is the way 🙂 ):
