doctor days.

Today was my second doctor visit in as many days and I am worn out.

Yesterday I saw my infectious disease doctor – the amazing physician who absolutely saved my life more than once during my bouts of sepsis and continues to manage my diminished immune situation so well.

At my appointment, he checked me out and drew All. The. Labs.

Thankfully, he felt that I have made significant progress with my pneumonia and my lungs were sounding better so he wanted me to finish that antibiotic and then resume my usual prophylactic one.

Overall, other than the recurrent respiratory infection issues I’ve been dealing with, he was happy with my recent progress in that I’ve not had any MRSA related problems – which is huge.

I came home to this adorable guy waiting for me. ❤ He doesn’t like it when his Mawm leaves.

Today, I saw my rheumatologist for my regular follow-up, to discuss the flares and infections that I have been dealing with lately.

After considering my recent chest x-ray findings – which suggest a rheumatoid nodule in my lungs – he ordered a CT scan of my chest to assess the situation further.

He ordered a bone density scan to follow up on the osteoporosis that led to all of the stress fractures in my feet as well.

(Both of those will be scheduled soon.)

He also did x-rays of my SI joints today to check the inflammation and damage in them – I’ve already had surgery on one and know I’ll eventually need it on the other side (but I’m certainly putting that way off) – as he feels they are also a significant issue at this time.

radiology.

Of course, as always, he did many labs, and I should have those results later this week.

Finally, between the two doctors, I was not only cleared, but really encouraged, to go ahead and address this cataract situation and also to set up a general surgery evaluation for an umbilical hernia repair that I must undergo – no matter how desperately anxious it makes me.

Overall, it has been an exhausting – but necessary and very productive – couple of days.

Now, I am so thankful to be home with Henry Petunia for the rest of the week, reading, writing, resting, and continuing to recover from what has been a scary, scary ailment.

Wishing you all a lovely rest of your week as well. ❤

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Grace and Blessings.
