Late last week, our sweet Dax required a trip to our wonderful vet’s office for a large swollen area that has come up suddenly on his left hind paw.

A biopsy was sent out and we have been anxiously awaiting results.
Unfortunately, on Monday, the news came in that he has a type of mast cell cancer – and it is not possible to do surgery in the area where it has come up.

However, there is a chemotherapy treatment available our vet can administer in office weekly for four weeks – and then biweekly depending on how he is responding – and it will not make him feel bad.
Right now, Daxy is still acting completely like himself. His leg does not hurt, he is running at full speed over our entire yard, howling at his ambulance sirens (his favourite thing to do), and he is eating like a champ.
As far as we can see, he feels totally well. ❤

As long as he is feeling good and tolerates the treatments – beginning this Friday – well, we are holding on and praying hard for the best.
Our vet is amazing and we know he will take the best care of Daxy.
All prayers, good vibes, and warm fuzzies are appreciated for our sweet big man.

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
