As I stated in my earlier post, our family has experienced some exciting changes since the end of last week.
Since Dax started having chemotherapy, it has been difficult for Juliet, his sister outside, when he has to be away from her for treatment. After careful consideration, we decided to adopt another baby for outside to join them – as we haven’t had three babies out there since our precious Dave crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
It worked out that one of the sweet ladies in my husband’s office had puppies she was needing to find homes for – and it has been a long process for her to do so.
One of the babies that was still with her family was a 14 month old male who looked like a little fox with the most adorable backwards ears.

On Friday afternoon, he came to join our family, to be called Mr. Ted Lasso.

We went by our vet’s office to pick up Dax from his chemo and have Ted’s first well check up and he got the all clear.

He is the sweetest dog – and he went out to stay with Dax and Jules and get on their inside/outside schedule.

We spent so much time over the weekend with him and all of the big babies trying to help him adjust – and were just shocked to find that he had decided to leap the fence Monday at lunchtime after he saw me with Henry and apparently decided to come find me.
Neither Courtney nor I were actually originally supposed to be home at that very time – so it was just a God thing that we were – and Ted clearly chose a new living situation for himself in our home. 😉
With his personality – Ted is very much a “people dog” – he really wants to be with us all the time – so we had to start convincing Henry that he could abide a brother inside.
Oh my word; what a challenge.
Most importantly, Henry had to know that Ted is never going to be mean or threatening to him (Ted is the furthest thing from mean), that nothing would change for him, and that his bedroom and weenie dog space would still be totally his.
(Henry is, after all, an eleven year old dog with health issues. He gets whatever he wants here in the Hippie Hut. ❤ )
We gathered supplies – beds and bowls and all the things – and moved Ted in Monday afternoon.

He is having to learn things like leash walking and outside time as well.

I am *so* happy to report that – considering the huge change – Henry is adjusting well and Ted is really good around him.

So – though we *still* do not have a companion for Juliet – all we can do is shake our heads at how spectacularly that plan fell apart 😉 – we are thankful for our new little man.
Welcome home, Ted Lasso the Puppy. ❤

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
