day 1 of thanksgiving – oliver hank.

As I said in my last post, as we do each year, it’s time to start our days of thanksgiving for November – and today is a big one.

For those of you who didn’t know, my Henry originally came to our family ordered by my cardiologist as my ESA for my severe anxiety, back when I had to stop working and my autoimmune disease was worsening exponentially it seemed.

Before Henry became sick himself, he went everywhere with me for years – including staying in the hospital for weeks at a time – and he was the most wonderful little bestie ever.

While I’ll never have another Henry Petunia, my family was definitely concerned that I need a tiny friend to be with me – in addition to our large doggies, who are wonderful.

We are a rescue family and my husband had even been searching all the local rescues for a weenie dog for me without success.

Well, to my knowledge, I’ve never followed the Montgomery Humane Society on Facebook – but they had a tiny weenie dog literally pop up on my feed for adoption out of nowhere on Sunday.

I called and talked to them – crying like a crazy person (I’m a treat right now) – and they had me send in an application.

Once approved, though they do not hold dogs, because it was Sunday late and I couldn’t get there until Monday morning with a two hour drive, they held him for me. ♥️

(All of this feels like my Henry sent this little guy to me.)

Bug and I drove down and met him.

He is almost three months old and so precious.

We adopted him – and he had to stay to be neutered.
(And then I cried more leaving him 🤦🏻‍♀️)

I’m sure I drove them crazy calling to check on him – but they were incredibly kind.

He had his surgery on Thursday and we went and brought all 7lb 3oz of him home on Friday.

Of course, we went straight to our vet and he was deemed healthy and adorable.

As we are old, we are having to learn to chase a puppy 😂 – but he is joy in the midst of many tears. ❤️

He is our little Oliver Hank, Oliver for Courtney’s grandfather and Hank for our precious Henry, ❤️

So far, he is my little sidekick, zooming around the house, loving his Lamby, and sleeping on me.

He is a doll,

Welcome to the family, Ollie. ❤️

Thank you, Henry P. ❤️

Happy first day of Thanksgiving, everyone.

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Grace and Blessings.
