after these past tumultuous months, my illnesses are flaring dreadfully.

As we’ve walked through these past several months, I’ve shared the happenings here in the Hippie Hut, some seeming almost unbearable and some completely wonderful – but all big changes with major adjustments in our lives.

Also, of course, Thanksgiving and Christmas have just come, both wonderful for our family, both very busy as well.

All that said, as we could have expected, my body has finally crashed *hard.*

My RA and CRPS symptoms are in a state at the moment, from my facial nerve pain to my swelling and stabbing pain in my hands, from severe pain in my lower spine and hips, to both of my knees having RA nodules at the same time for the first time ever – and, of course, my feet doing their usual thing.

Alongside the pain symptoms, my GI CRPS symptoms have showed up as well as my fevers and fatigue.

Even my smaller oddball issues like particularly dry eyes and lizard skin are showing themselves at the moment. 🤦🏻‍♀️

(We also have a gnarly storm system coming through tonight – and I am extra thankful for a Christmas care package from my Jen that contained some super soft socks and Irish chocolate that is giving me life right now ♥️).

I share all of this because plenty of my fellow spoonies are sharing similar experiences right now, post-holiday flares that have them terribly ill.

As I haven’t been hit this hard – with several ailments out of sorts at once – in a while, I’m leaning in extra to my usual treatments – rest, meds, cozy time at home (where I am so blessed to have my wonderful people and puppies ♥️).

I’ve regrettably had to increase my steroids as well – but that is all there is in my current state.

As I am resting and mending, I’m also sending love, prayers, and good vibes to everyone else in a similar way this week.
