Tonight, a military helicopter collided with a passenger plane over the Potomac near Washington DC as the airplane was approaching Reagan National Airport to land.
This happened shortly before 9pm Eastern Standard Time – and news has been coming quickly since.
Images of the crash appeared on X almost as soon as the national news reported what had happened – and we now know that there were 64 people on the plane and three on the helicopter.
The most recent report is confirming that there are some fatalities and no survivors have been found at this point.
As the waters are treacherous, dark and icy, it is dangerous for rescuers as well and expected to take days to fully search.
Our prayers are with everyone affected by this tragedy as we watch and hold space for them all in the coming days.
This is heartbreaking.
Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
