That the above was today’s Lenten card reading from our church is not lost on me.
As we know:
The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged. – Deuteronomy 31:8
Today, we are experiencing a truly terrifying weather threat in my home state. The area in which I live is under a high threat – 5/5 – of severe weather from now, as I’m writing, until 4AM tomorrow morning. We are seeing tornadoes to the west of us already.
Having been within a mile of the April 27, 2011 tornado and having lived through several other terrible storm events, we cannot help but be afraid. This is an unusual and really scary situation, even in a state that often gets severe weather.
Still, we know that God is in control.
I am truly grateful that my husband will be home shortly, as many places are closing early, including his office. I hate being separated in this mess.
We will all hunker down together and watch and pray.
We are praying for the safety of our loved ones, friends, and neighbors with all our hearts as well.
It is still St. Patrick’s Day – though a strange one, so we remember him as well.
A favorite prayer. ❤
Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other. Stay safe.
Grace and Blessings.
