Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.

It’s been a cozy sort of day here in the Hippie Hut. As I’m still very much in the surgery recovery process, we didn’t travel but rather had yummy finger foods and my Grandmother’s traditional holiday cookies (in GF version) and watched the Egg Bowl tonight (Hail State always anyway).

I have many blessings to be thankful for – and being home with my people is definitely first among them. God is so good.

Today I have also been in touch with my sweet parents, my wonderful family in love, my bestie (sister) out of state, my dearest across the ocean, my bff down the street, and several loved ones who are so precious to me.

(After I had written the above, as we were watching our games, we learned that one of our precious family members is ill this evening suddenly – life changes so quickly – and I am grateful they are getting the best care and that tests look good so far. Oh my heart. I am grateful God is watching over them and I am praying.)

Sudden things like this – with our loved one today and my own health situation recently – reinforce that nothing is more important than our people, our biggest blessing, and the only thing that matters.

So. . . for the rest of the night, my Sara Bug and I have plans to pile up and eat chocolate and watch the very last episode of Buzzfeed Unsolved. 

Then, this weekend is lots of family time and Christmas decorating and a Christmas movie date night and the Iron Bowl with my better half and Church Day with the start of Advent. . .

Just being with my people.

Oh, I am so thankful.
