Happy Belated Easter. telling The Old Old Story – And Dolly.

Happy (Belated) Easter, y’all!

With a Sunday schoolwork deadline – and big things due as the term is wrapping up – sometimes my best laid plans go by the wayside and I am chasing myself for posts.

Still, we had a wonderful Resurrection Day here in the Hippie Hut and I hope you all did as well.

While we will never outgrow the Easter Bunny here – ❤ – I don’t want to miss the heart of Easter each year, telling the Old Old Story.

A super simple version from my little devotional:

Our God is a triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We were created to walk in fellowship with God for His good pleasure.

However, man fell into sin and was separated from God.

Because of the fall, all of mankind – each of us – has a sin nature and is separate and apart from a Holy God.

Because God loves us and is full of grace and mercy, He desired to redeem all of mankind, to reconcile us to Himself.

Jesus came to earth and was born of a virgin.

He lived a sinless life, being fully man and fully God.

He was crucified, suffering a terrible death on the cross, willingly giving up His life in our place, for the atonement of our sins.

He was resurrected on the third day.

He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will return as it is told to us in the Word.

It is all gift from God that we come to Him.

Our response is to repent and believe in Jesus, accepting His gift of salvation and following Him.

Then we are reconciled to God and enter into relationship with Him.

Such a beautiful story. How blessed we are.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. – Romans 1:16 (ESV)

May we never forget to tell and share the Old Old Story.

Also, though I love (love, LOVE) the hymns of the church – and particularly the hymns I associate with Christmas and Easter – it’s also not a proper Easter until I post Miss Dolly Parton’s He’s Alive – and I would be remiss if I didn’t share it here as well.

There are several things I hope to have time to write about this week – there are a few deadlines looming – but Easter – even though it’s late – was first for sure. ❤

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Grace and Blessings.
