School is officially out for Christmas break and with it my first full year at State is complete – and what a year it has been. ❤
When I started, I wrote about my excitement at the second chances I never expected to have to be a Bulldog.
This was my post on orientation day last Fall:

Since then, I’ve had some wonderful experiences.
During my first three weeks of my first semester, I was actually trying to get settled in whilst finishing my first book in time for an Ash Wednesday release date. . . It was a wild ride for a minute.
I am so thankful to have made our goal – a total God thing, that I could have never done without Him and major help from my dear friend/editor extraordinaire Cheryl.
Since then, this year, I’ve taken some fantastic classes that have grown me. Some favorites were philosophy, with some amazing reading, a music class that I adored, and a few anthropology classes that have just been my jam.
I have also taken history, history, and more history – and learned so so much.
Earlier this year, our school won our first ever National Championship in any sport in baseball – and, y’all, this is freaking HUGE.
Oh. My. Word. Have we ever celebrated.
Not only that, but I was able to take Sara on her first ever trip to Starkville the day we ended up winning the Championship.
It was so much fun – and we brought back the luckiest pink cowbell in the land, clearly linked to our success that night. . . 😉
On a different note, at the end of summer, I got the best news that I was invited to join Omega Nu Lambda Honor Society. I was so surprised and incredibly excited. ❤
.
Fall semester and football season, with my better half and our fabulous Coach Leach, was just the best as well. We’ve had so much fun.
My husband – with his team still very much on the path for a potential football Natty – has been amazing – watching games, building me wonderful lamps, getting me super fabulous cowbells and jerseys. . .
He is the very best. ❤
I am so grateful for this year and all of my experiences and learning and looking forward to Christmas break and then carrying on.
Hail State, y’all.
As I mentioned in my last post, we’ll be closing posts through Christmas with some favorite Christmas songs so today it’s Amy Grant’s Grown Up Christmas List. ❤
Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
