sickly.

Over the past week, Henry and I have both been in and out of doctor’s offices and my husband has been in awful pain with his back.

Henry was at our wonderful vet’s office last week, dealing with some unruly blood sugar issues.

Heading home from the vet. ❤

Since his visit, he seems to be feeling well as we work to get this under control, thank goodness.

At the same time, my husband is having to treat his back as best he can – and it just awful. I hate this so much and pray it improves soon. There is so little it seems we can do.

As for me, my left foot and ankle began to show signs of infection last week while my body was also acting very inflamed generally. After my infectious disease doctor assessed the situation, labs were ordered and then an infusion of a long acting antibiotic that covers me for three weeks was ordered.

I am so grateful it is available – as it has saved me many complications – though it absolutely wipes me out.

I received it on Thursday and then Friday was Enbrel day so this weekend I was toast.

From there, some external circumstances brought us severe stress over the weekend, and my whole body has just absolutely exploded with the flare I was trying to contain with the worst symptoms in my hands, my face, my knees, and, oh my word, my. right. hip.

stress + infection = sick as hale.

So much pain and I am still exhausted despite sleeping like a grizzly bear.

It’s a mess.

I am so thankful for my wonderful husband, who has been looking after me despite having absolutely awful pain himself. He is the very best. ❤

For now, I’m trying to put the fire out and keep the stress down until I have another doctor’s appointment on Wednesday. It’s just hard to stop the boulder once it’s started downhill with a flare.

This morning, I will leave you with a spoonie funny that made me laugh, the artistic pain scale:

she who laughs lasts. 😉

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Grace and Blessings.
