blogmas day 11 – our first “fighting words friday”

I wrote in my post about seeing Ellie Holcomb how much I love her weekly “Fighting Words Fridays” where she focuses on an encouraging scripture each week. Actually, not only is Fighting Words the title of her devotional book. she also has a song of the same name:

That said, as I mentioned, I would love to start Fighting Words Fridays here as well – and today is the day. ❤

Our first FWF Scripture feels right leading up to Christmas. It’s from the my favorite gospel, the book of John.

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

The way The Message paraphrases it is, “The Word became flesh and moved into the neighborhood.”

This scripture is such a beautiful and comforting picture of God coming to us, stooping down to touch humanity – Emmanuel, God with us.

That makes today’s Christmas song choice so simple – and one of my favorites as well. ❤

We have our Christmas celebration with our family this weekend – we haven’t gotten to see them in a few months – and I am so excited. It’s the start of the very best time of the year. ❤

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other – and I’ll see you tomorrow for day 12 of blogmas.

Grace and Blessings.
