giving gratitude for ordinary (wonderful) days.

Y’all, I’m so happy to report that we are still in slow, healing, home-and-doctors-appointments days here in the Hippie Hut.

i’m so blessed to be home snuggling these sweet fellas. 🖤

As we could have predicted, my RA joints, particularly my left hand and my knees, have exploded in the wake of all these malnutrition issues and severe systemic disease – so I will be seeing my rheumy this week.

Last week, I was able to take myself in Grover to my PCP and also out for a nerve conduction study (that was so painful 😣). Still, I was so thankful to be able to load up and go.

I need Ellie the Cane to get around safely (I’m still dealing with some gnarly balance issues) and I have to go slowly – but I’m building up strength little by little. 🖤

going on an adventure. . . to the doctor. . . 😂🖤😂

I’m also so thankful that my gastroparesis medication continues to work amazingly well – despite it supporting my shameful CPK thin crust BBQ chicken pizza and Smartfood white cheddar popcorn addictions, 👀

(When you haven’t eaten literally in months – and you are diagnosed with severe protein malnutrition that hasn’t entirely corrected yet – oh my word, it is a next level type of hungry. 😳😂😳)

oh, the smartfood 😂. (and that’s Ellie the leopard print cane riding along too 🖤)

I know there is a long way to go – and my baseline health still involves several complex illnesses – but we will get through them as we always have.

gorgeous flowers from my better half. 🖤

Also, always the book nerd, in thinking about the beauty of ordinary days – and how much we all miss them when they are taken – I remembered a wonderful book I read some years ago by an Anglican priest, Tish Harrison Warren, called liturgy of the ordinary: sacred practices in everyday life. Thinking that I had really loved it, I pulled it from my library and reread it yesterday – and I encourage y’all to add it to your TBR as well. It is so lovely.

🖤

I am just so thankful to be here where I belong, home with my people and puppies, working to get stronger, resting, healing, and getting ready to share my book with y’all (and celebrate Fall and football too 🐶🖤🐶).

so much this. 🖤

Be well, everybody. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Grace and Blessings.
