For the past few years, I’ve started my decorating for Christmas a little before Thanksgiving (and I’ve been backing it up a little more each year) – where I used to be one of those hard and fast day after Thanksgiving people.
And I wanted to get started sooner.
So, this year, I’ve decided it’s time to do what I really want to do, and, from now on, Christmas season in the Hippie Hut is starting on November 1st (sorry, grinches).
This is my first Holiday season that I’ll be spending at home due to my illness, and I already love the scent of Christmas Spirit diffusing through our home.
Nothing makes me happier than Christmas carols while I’m working in the house and sitting in the den by the Christmas tree while I work on my school work.
I love wrapping each gift as I bring it home and putting it under the tree.
And this year I’m also doing some homemade goodies and crafts and I can’t wait to make them and put the baskets under the tree too.
I’m just READY for all things Christmas.
Honestly, having lost a close friend last week (who would be rolling in the floor laughing at me for putting up my tree so early, by the way), and being home dealing with a serious illness myself, I’ve just decided that life is too short to postpone the simple things that bring us joy, even if they are a little strange to other people.
And having a two month Christmas each year will bring me great joy.
So bring on the lights and the hot chocolate and the mini trees and the stockings and the ornaments and the carols and the movies and the crafts and the yummy scents and all the good stuff.
(and I’ve already watched Elf tonight)
Be well, everybody.
Love and light. ❤️💚💜💙💛
