I have to be honest and say that my Thanksgiving started as I told my family probably not as the sickest I’ve ever BEEN – but certainly as the sickest I’ve ever FELT if that makes any sense.
After several days of progressive nausea and illness trying to finish up an antibiotic (one of the perils of autoimmune disease and being immunocompromised), I woke up with no blood pressure and no blood sugar, feeling dizzy as hell every time I tried to stand and continually falling back asleep and having massive sweats.
Finally, after crazy linen changes, we got enough Gatorade and salty food in me to get me back upright – and I decided to forgo the last day of ABX today.
I’ve made it as far as I’m going to make it with this business.
It’s now almost midnight and I can finally walk through our house. My sweet Sara Bug is making us some salty bacon – I could eat ALL the salt in the land – and we just shared some cranberry sauce. After our bacon, we are going to have some of her amazing GF pumpkin pie for dessert.
It’s our Happy Non-Traditional Late Spoonie Thanksgiving – and I am definitely thankful for it. 🖤
Among my many blessings, I am thankful for. . .
My wonderful better half – my best friend and my rock. He takes such amazing care of me and our family and I am so thankful for him.
My sweet Sara Bug and our adorable grand pup Goblin. She is the most wonderful daughter we could ever ask for and always looking after me (and our Gobs is the cutest ever).
Everyone knows about me and Henry P Herring. Oh my word, do I love him. 🖤
And, of course, we are thankful for the world’s most unruly and handsome feline too.
I’m so incredibly thankful for my precious parents and my beautiful bestie and sweet friends who check in often and our wonderful family and for Christmas decorating and Snuggies and being all snoodeled up and cozy at home and for Florence the red truck and vanilla spice tea and long weekends home together and the Egg Bowl on Saturday and going back to school in January (Hail State!) and this wonderful life. 🖤
I am truly blessed.
Thank you all for reading and joining me as well. I am thankful for you for sure.
Happy Thanksgiving Weekend and much love to you all!
Be well and be safe out there! Take care of yourselves and each other.
Grace and Blessings.
